The first step to any project is making the sale, and this is where the rubber meets the road for our plan & spec projects. Our estimating team operates in a fast-paced environment developing cost estimates and bid proposals, managing client relationships and collaborating with the project management team.
This role requires a detail-oriented person with strong critical thinking abilities, time management skills and a willingness to learn.

Job Description:
This is a full-time position. The majority of the applicants’ time will be spent in an office environment at a computer workstation. Critical tasks include reading and analyzing mechanical plans/specs and other bid documents, communicating with vendors, and communicating with general contractors/owners. We are looking for someone who can maintain strong relationships with current clients and develop new relationships over time. Some local/regional travel will be required to attend pre-bid meetings and job sites. This role will develop and expand over time.
Duties:
Review and process bid invitations.
Review drawings for accuracy and submit RFIs.
Request and procure quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
Maintain file systems and compile bid documentation.
Estimate projects from start to finish.
Request and review shop drawings.
Assist with project management.
Additional Responsibilities:
Attend pre-bid meetings.
Request job permits.
Create purchase orders and order equipment/material.
Monitor job progress.
Client relationship development.

Education and Experience:
1+ years’ experience in mechanical or plumbing estimating required.
4-year degree and/or construction experience preferred.
Proficiency with PDF software and Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
